If you are living in Kuala Lumpur and suddenly miss the authentic taste of Indonesian street-style chicken noodles (mie ayam abang-abang), Mie Ayam King is one of the best spots to visit.

It is very accessible, just a casual short walk from Kampung Baru LRT Station taking the direction towards the Chow Kit area.

My Order: Mie Ayam Ceker (Only RM 8.50)

Yesterday I decided to order the Mie Ayam Ceker. It costs only RM 8.50, but the noodle portion, savory broth, braised soy chicken pieces, and tender chicken feet were absolutely top-notch—you’d regret not trying it.

The chicken feet were super tender, the chicken seasoning soaked right into the fibers, and the broth was just right—a comforting Jakarta-style mie ayam. One sip and bite, it instantly satisfies your appetite and cures any homesickness for Indonesia.

In another photo I snapped on a different visit above, you can see the crispy wonton crackers (pangsit) and tender chicken feet in even clearer detail. Honestly, this spot is a guaranteed repeat order for me. I can’t even count how often I come here—at least once a month to cure my homesickness, or whenever work gets super stressful, this is definitely my go-to comfort sanctuary.

“As long as there’s mie ayam, the world is still alright.” 🍜✨
